Ajmal emphasized the importance of Pakistan players participating in international leagues
Former Test cricketer Saeed Ajmal announced that Shadab Khan will be fully fit and available to play in the upcoming HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL)2023, despite recent rumors that he would not participate.
Ajmal emphasized the importance of Pakistan players participating in international leagues for their development and growth as cricketers.
He also praised Shadab’s experience playing in the Big Bash League (BBL) and how it positively impacted his performance in the World Cup.
“Due to Shadab Khan playing in Australia, his performance graph in the World Cup is high,” said Ajmal.
“Injuries can happen at any time and anywhere; Shadab Khan has been groomed by playing Big Bash League (BBL),” he maintained.
Ajmal also weighed in on the ongoing debate about the role of politics in Pakistan’s cricket board (PCB) and called for more consistency and stability in leadership.
“The change of chairman puts pressure on the players; the chairman who sleeps at night is finished in the morning,” said Saeed Ajmal.
He also expressed support for current Pakistan captain Babar Azam and suggested that he should be given more guidance and mentorship instead of replacing him.
“Changing the captain is not the solution. He should be helped in making good decisions. Babar Azam is still doing good captaincy and should not be changed.”
Ajmal also acknowledged the challenges facing Pakistan’s test team and said that improvements in the team’s batting have been made, but more work is needed to improve the bowlers’ swing and length.
